Course overview :

City and Guilds 2392-10 is the qualification which is specifically aimed at electricians and others who have a limited or no experience in carrying out initial verification and additionally, carrying out functional testing and interpreting test results. City and Guilds 2392-10 is structured and designed to provide candidates with the skills and underpinning knowledge to confidently undertake the practical assessment. The course, City and Guilds 2392-10 contains a significant number of “hands on” workshop style training sessions, which cover all of the processes involved in initial verification, and functional testing as described in Part 6 of BS7671:2008, and within IEE Guidance Note 3

City and Guilds 2392-10 references the requirements of the 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2008) and is restricted to initial verification only as described in Part 6, Chapter 61 of BS7671:2008 the 17th edition of the Wiring Regulations.

Pre-entry requirements to attend this course:

We strongly recommend that delegates who wish to attend this course, should have a successful pass in either the full qualification for the 17th edition, normally evidenced by City and Guilds 2382-10 (or equivalent) or the update qualification from the 16th edition to the 17th edition; City and Guilds 2382-20 (or equivalent).

We also recommend that delegates who wish to attend this course, have an understanding of electrical theory, current electrical definitions and terminologies, with a working knowledge of electrical installations.

City and Guilds 2392-10 is an excellent preparation for delegates who are considering undertaking the challenges offered by the qualification, City and Guilds 2391-10 Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations

City and Guilds 2392-10 is particularly beneficial for electricians who are about to undertake external assessments for the purposes of Part P registration by a competent person’s scheme assessor, or for the assessment by the NICEIC's inspecting engineer's and any other organisations who are responsible for assessing competencies of applicants that are enrolled within a nationally recognised competent person's scheme.

Course content:

On completion of the course, participants will understand:
• Safe isolation
• Overview of Part 6/Chapter 61 BS 7671:2008
• The processes involved in Initial Verification
• The Visual inspection
• The Correct Sequence of Functional Testing
• Carrying out Functional Testing
• Evaluating and interpreting test results
• Completion of the Installation Test Certificates and the Schedules of Tests

Assessment:

All candidates undertaking City and Guilds 2392-10 are assessed via 50 multiple choice questions – the examination, which is "closed book", is carried out using the computer based City and Guilds Gola system – all candidates are given their examination results at the end of the examination period.

With City and Guilds 2392-10, there is a separate 2 hour practical assessment, which is normally conducted on the 4th day of the course, with any further practical training being conducted to the delegate during this period.

Total Electrical Training enjoys a 98% success rate in the City & Guilds 2392-10 examination.
