Installing Access Control Systems Course Overview:
This course will provide delegates with some of the fundamental skills required to design, install and commission Access Control systems. The course is aimed at individuals including electricians and those seeking to to become security systems Installers, the course is designed to enable individuals to have the confidence and ability to install, maintain, repair, design and survey Access Control systems.
Who will benefit from this course?
Electrical Installers, Maintenance Personnel and others who are seeking “Hands On” skills and wish to be able to survey, install i.e. Commission Access Control Systems.
Course content:
• Site Safety
• Be able to survey sites and carry out risk assessments
• Be able to carry out installations of exterior control panels
• Recognise and understand terminologies
• Have an overview of cabling topologies and standards
• Identify commonplace problems
• Carry out tests to prove system functionality
• Client / customer handover / commission
Assessment:
Although this is a non accredited course, we can provide delegates with an optional short examination. All delegates receive a certificate of attendance with successful delegates passing the optional examination, receiving a Total Electrical certificate with a credit towards their next booked course with Total Electrical Training
Other information:
It is expected that delegates have some understanding of electrical system design and we do strongly recommend that prospective candidates are in possession of a successful 17th edition BS 7671 certificate; this is normally evidenced by way of a City and Guilds 2382 qualification. We also suggest that delegates should have some background knowledge of the principles of electrical testing.
