The City and Guilds 2394 & 2395 qualifications have been designed as the  "replacement" for City and Guilds 2391-10.

City and Guilds 2394 and City and Guilds 2395 are not "direct" replacements for City and Guilds 2391-10,  but share many of the characteristics of the 2391-10 award. With these awards, the series of practical assessments have been updated and made much more robust.

At Total Electrical Training, we have already successfully delivered these important qualifications and in truth, both awards (2394 & 2395) are seen as a true test of the individuals testing skill and technical knowledge. We have a structured approach so that you are thoroughly prepared.

Please note that the award is "split" into 3 distinct units which all candidates MUST successfully complete in order to achieve the qualification:

Unit 301: on line e-evolve examination         Unit 502: Electronic 'Written' examination           Unit 303: Practical Assessment

The City and Guilds 2395-01 level 3 award has been developed as a direct replacement for City and Guilds 2391-10,  and comprehensively covers Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations.

The award is at Level 3 and has been endorsed by SummitSkills, the Sector Skills Council for the building services engineering sector.

Delegates who undertake this award and are successful have opportunities to progress on to the following City & Guilds qualifications:

Level 3 Award in Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations

Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations

    ILM management

City and Guilds 2395-01 has been designed to replace City and Guilds 2391-10. It should be noted that this City and Guilds 2395-01 qualification is designed to prepare candidates for the processes involved in carrying out periodic inspection of electrical installation work. Furthermore, it references all the changes that were incorporated in BS 7671:2008 (incorporating amendment no 1: 2011), the 17th edition of the IET Wiring Regulations. It is important to note that the 17th Edition Amendment No 1 contains extensive and significant changes.

City and Guilds 2394 is essentially aimed at practicing electricians who have not yet carried out any extensive inspection and testing since obtaining the 17th edition or perhaps since qualifying; or who require some update of their training before going on to other City & Guilds qualifications.

The qualification may also be suitable for those with limited experience of initial verification and the inspection of electrical installations and who have knowledge of electrical systems.

Although the course is principally designed for those who are already involved in the electrical industry, we suggest that those who are considering entering the industry, particularly from other engineering disciplines or who have been working in allied trades may find the course beneficial.

The 2394-01 award thoroughly prepares the delegate to undertake and understand the principles, practices and legislation for the initial verification of electrical installations
