City and Guilds 2377-22 (Practical Testing) In Service Testing & Inspecting of Electrical Equipment - Electrician

City and Guilds 2377-22 is the benchmark qualification for anyone who intends to carry out the practical testing of electrical equipment, also known as Portable Appliance Testing.

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 state “as may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger”.

This course will train personnel that are asked to carry out visual inspections as well as testing, using electrical test equipment.

Although there are no formal pre-entry candidate requirements to undertake this qualification, It is important to note that this course (and more importantly, the syllabus) anticipate that candidates have an understanding of electrical theory; including the effects of resistances on cables, common electrical terminology, and common equations (including the application of Ohms Law), etc., and how to work safely in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

This training course may be beneficial to Individuals who are involved in, or are carrying out, the inspection and electrical tests on electrical equipment.

Successful candidates will gain a nationally recognised qualification.

Candidates are assessed via an online, multiple-choice examination. City and Guilds 2377-22 has an 'open book' examination and is carried out using the City and Guilds e-volve system and candidates are provided with their results at the end of the examination.

There is also a separate, practical assessment to be successfully undertaken by all candidates; involving the safe use of test equipment.

This course is subject to VAT and is inclusive of all course materials, examination fees and refreshments.

Publications for this course are sold separately and not included in the price.
