This City and Guilds 2382-10 upgrade course is the benchmark qualification for all electricians and electrical engineers who are seeking to achieve certification in the 17th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations. It provides delegates with an opportunity to upgrade their current 17th edition qualfication to the amended version which applies to all new electrical instalaltions from January the 1st 2012.

Covering comprehensively the 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations, City and Guilds 2382-10 is widely recognised throughout the electrical industry as the “must have” qualification. It is seen by many as a mandatory requirement showing that a thorough understanding of the 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations has been achieved.

So whether you are involved in domestic, commercial or industrial electrical installations activities, City and Guilds 2382-10 qualification is widely regarded as a compulsory requirement for anyone involved in the electrical installation industry or is likely to be supervising those that are carrying out electrical installations.
 

Although there are no pre entry requirements to attend this course, we strongly recommend that you should have prior knowledge of electrical theory,principles and terminologies, together with a basic understanding of electrical installation circuits

Electricians and electrical engineers and thoise who would like to upgrade their current 17th edition to  the ammendment No. 1 of the 17th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations

On completion of the 17th edition course, participants will understand:

  • The 17th edition wiring regulations and it’s relationship with other regulations
  • The scope and object and fundamental principles of the Regulations
  • The definitions and terms used in the Regulations
  • Assessment of general characteristics

  • Selection and erection of equipment
  • Inspection and testing
  • Special installations or locations
  • the 15 Appendices

 

All candidates on this upgrade 17th edition course will still be assessed via 60 multiple choice questions – this is an “open book” examination and is carried out using the computer based City and Guilds e-evolve system – all candidates are given their results at the end of the examination.

This 17th edition course leads to a fully accredited level 3 qualification in the 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations BS7671:2008.

IET wiring regulations books taken into examinations can contain the following:

  • Bookmarks (eg blank post-it notes or corners of pages folded)
  • Highlighting of text

Please note that copies of BS 7671:2008, taken into examinations cannot contain the following:

  • Sample exam questions, answers or diagrams
  • Any writing in the regulations or accompanying written notes which indicate possible answers within a given section.
  • Notes, diagrams or any content that may, in anyway advantage the candidate in answering questions within the examination.
