COMING OCTOBER 2018...

Eligibility criteria applies to this training course (see below)

To avoid disappointment, PLEASE ensure that you read through the information provided for this training course, including the eligibility requirements of candidates, FULLY before booking - we are here to advise and we welcome you to contact us if you have any questions.

The 18th edition of BS 7671; the IET Wiring Regulations, has been released and is now available.

Whilst the designs of electrical installations do not need to be compliant with the 18th edition until 1st January 2019 and whilst it has not been explicitly stated, we believe that Competent Person Scheme providers will be requiring their members to hold an 18th edition qualification.

It is expected that those individuals holding a 17th Edition qualification will be required to update their qualification; even if this was completed after one of the 17th edition amendments were introduced.

This qualification is primarily aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals e.g. surveyors, consultants and other trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of the IET Wiring Regulations. It is also suitable for anyone simply wishing to demonstrate an understanding of BS 7671; the Wiring Regulations.

As this is an update course, the content will be limited to discussions of the main additions and alterations of BS 7671.

It will be expected that candidates attending this course still retain the understanding and awareness of the navigation of BS 7671 from previous training and regular usage and reference.

** Eligibility criteria **

To be accepted onto attendance of this course, candidates MUST provide verifiable evidence of having achieved City & Guilds 2382-15 (or equivalent qualification relating to BS 7671: 2015; including Amendment 3) before the course; this may be by providing the certificate, or enrolment number if undertaken previously with us.

This 18th Edition electrical course is suitable for anyone who is currently involved in electrical installation work; whether they are engaged in the domestic, industrial or commercial electrical installation industry.

NOTE: It is expected that candidates will have an understanding of the navigation of BS 7671 and a basic knowledge of electrical science.

Successful candidates will gain the nationally recognised qualification for the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations; City & Guilds 2382.

As this is an update course, the content will be limited to discussions of the main additions and alterations of BS 7671.

It will be expected that candidates attending this course still retain the understanidng and awareness of the navigation of BS 7671 from previous training and regular usage and reference.

During the sessions, we look through the main elements of new content of the regulations.

The aim is for you to gain an understanding of the requirements contained within BS 7671, including the changes that may affect you and your work and in addition, for you to be successful in the examination.

The following topics will be covered.

Additions and alterations to the following content of BS 7671:

o       Part 2: Definitions

As there is no 'update' version of the City & Guilds examination planned for this edition, all candidates undertaking this City and Guilds qualification will be assessed via the regular two-hour, e-Volve on-line examination; consisting of 60 multiple-choice questions.

This is an “open book” examination and candidates will be allowed to refer to a clean copy of BS 7671:2018.

Candidates will be provided with their examination results on completion of the examination session.

The price of the course is £195 plus VAT.

This course is subject to VAT and is inclusive of all course materials, examination fees and refreshments.
