All electrical or electro-technical professionals who intend to design and verify commercial, industrial or domestic electrical installations.
City & Guilds 2391-20 is assessed in three distinct ways:
There is a written 3 hour long examination, which is “open book”, a practical assessment (only for those delegates who have yet to pass the 2391-10 practical assessment and a City and Guilds design project, which is to be completed within a set time period.
All project work is marked separately from the written examination.
Please note that candidates that can verify recent achievement of the City & Guilds 2391-102 element of the City and Guilds 2391-10 qualification may be considered exempt from the practical assessment of City and Guilds 2391-20.
The cost of this course is £720.00 plus VAT
All exam fees & course workbooks, including project materials are included in the cost of the course
All City and Guilds 2391-20 written examinations are known as "dated entry" examinations. This means that there are a limited number of specific dates that City and Guilds releases throughout the year, when City and Guilds 2391-20 written examinations can take place. We do advise delegates who book a City and Guilds 2391-20 course, to check with us when the examination will take place - please be aware that after a certain "cut off" period, which is normally 6 weeks prior to the date of the actual examination, that delegates will be subject to a "late entry examination fee".
All written examination papers are marked by an appointed City and Guilds examiner, with results not normally available for around 8 to 10 weeks - any delays in marking written examination papers is generally outside of our control, however, we will advise you of your result by post and/or e mail as soon as we have been notified.
Your project work examination result is normally available within 10 weeks of submission, however please be aware that any project that you submit must be certified as entirely your own work - you can use CAD software for the purposes of drawing take offs.
This course leads to a fully accredited level 3 qualification. At the moment, City and Guilds are only releasing a maximum of 2 to 3 examinations dates per year for this qualification, however, this is subject to change at short notice. We recommend that delegates have a copy of Guidance Note 1; although this is not permitted reference material for the open book examination, it is referred to during the course and the subsequent project.
Delegates are required to have 1 copy of the following:
-
The 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations BS7671:2008
-
BS7671:2008 On site Guide
-
Guidance Note 3
All these books can be purchased from our website.
In 2012, all 2391-20 awards will be replaced by City and Guilds 2396.
